Namtec Intellectual Property Event 24th May 2011Rotherham

How well protected is your business?  Do you use Confidentiality Agreements? Do you know the value of your ‘expertise’?  Do you trade in the BRIC countries and know your rights?

Date: 24th May 2011
Venue: NAMTEC, Swinden House, Rotherham, South Yorkshire
Cost: £25 + VAT
Register at: www.namtec.co.uk

NAMTEC has brought together leading experts who will span the breadth of Intellectual Property, helping you to identify and better understand how and what to protect in your business, securing your expertise and driving growth.

The subject of ‘Intellectual Property’ is both wide reaching in its scope and an increasingly significant aspect to any business. It extends from the well known but essential aspects around patents through trademarks, design and copyright all the way through confidentiality.  Business expertise is a fundamental aspect of their success and the value of that business. Protecting it is complex, difficult and often poorly understood and one where mistakes are costly.  With many companies now exporting more of their goods and into markets such as China, Brazil, Russia and India, the concerns over infringement and loss of expertise continue to grow.

The session will begin with a broad introduction to the wide ranging aspects of Intellectual Property then give a ‘warts and all’ view of patents.  After a short break, the recent major changes (as influenced by the changing economic climate, green technologies, growing prominence of BRIC group, increased collaboration of patent offices, procedure and cost streamlining of litigation forums) will be outlined. The morning will conclude with the subject of confidentiality; often relied upon but equally as often poorly understood.  With an opportunity to meet and discuss with the expert presenters, this event allows companies to gain a strong understanding of this important area.
